How to remove yourself from Experian

Experian is a data company listed on California's data broker registry. Here's how to ask it to remove you, for free. You don't need Free My ID to do this.

Step by step

  1. Open the opting-out page.

  2. Pick the choice you want, such as direct mail, phone calls, email or preapproved offers.

  3. For other privacy choices, use the 'Your privacy choices' link on that page.

  4. Follow the buttons and fill in your details.

Open Experian's removal page

Opens www.experian.com, Experian's own website.

Or let Free My ID do it

Free My ID opens Experian's removal page in your own browser, with these steps beside it and a Copy button for each box. On sites that allow it, it can fill the boxes in while you watch. You tick any "I'm not a robot" box yourself. Then it checks again later, because sites can list people again.
